Route now integrates with Segment

We want to be the easiest yet powerful Marketing Automation software on the market.

To achieve this we are building several integrations that will allow third party apps to send information to Route.

The first integration that is up and running is with Segment.

What’s Segment?

If you don’t know what Segment is you should take your time to see what their service is all about. Take a few minutes to take their tour to learn in details what they do, but this is how they describe their services:

Segment is a customer data hub. You send us your data from any device or platform. We translate and forward it to your apps in a language they understand.

How does Segment work?

Imagine that you use Google AdWords, Google Analytics, Kissmetrics, Route, Olark and Optimizely. They all have their own tracking codes that you need to put on your website.

Using Segment you just use Segment’s library to track your site and switch on Google AdWords, Google Analytics, Kissmetrics, Route, Olark and Optimizely integrations using their dashboard.

That way you’ll use Segment to send data to your different services. Isn’t that great?

Just as simple as that.

Route + Segment

It’s been a while since we follow what Segment (previously Segment IO) is doing. We always found interesting their approach and when we decided to start building integrations we said: we need to start with Segment.

Apart for being an interesting service, other companies that we like, admire and use have integrations there.

We knew we’d be on great company!

How does our integration work?

When you enable Route on Segment, you’ll be able to use their “analytics.track” and “analytics.identify” methods to track events and identify users in your Route’s account.

For example, to identify someone you’d use:

And to track an event you could just:

Then as you start getting this data into Route you’ll be able to create your automated campaigns targeting these people and their events, as simple as that.
